FAQ

A. This is one of the most frequently asked questions when someone is looking to book a Torque Events Tour and the answer is: they are like you, they have a passion for cars, driving and adventure.

Our Tours attract a mix of small groups, couples, pairs of friends, and solo drivers that all want to share in the adventure. We also have many partners join the Tours as a passenger or co-driver.

Many of our participants, keep in touch with the other participants on their Tour forging life-long friendships.

The price of our Tours is based on 2 people occupying a car and sharing a twin or double room Hotel accommodation, with dinner and breakfast (unless otherwise specified). If you are travelling alone a single occupancy supplement will apply - see individual Tour for details.

Also included in the price are:

• The support of our Torque Team 24/7 to ensure everything runs smoothly and to assist if it doesn’t

• A leading vehicle to show you the way to some of the best driving roads in the world, and forewarn of upcoming hazards

• Meticulously planned routes and hidden gems off the beaten track, ensuring traffic is light and you experience roads that will be fun and sharpen your sense of driving adventure

• Two-way radio system for useful information as well as Tour banter

• A route book (to keep) with maps, addresses, and useful information

• Management of extra activities arranged through third party providers

A. To participate in a Torque Tour the first thing you need is a sense of adventure! You will need your own car; any performance cars are welcome on our Tours, whether they are super-cars, sports cars, or sports classics. Our only ask is that your car must be capable of achieving the country’s national speed limits.

You will also need car and travel insurance as well as sufficient breakdown cover (further details can be found in our Terms and Conditions). Other things required are fuel, tolls, lunch, drinks, passport (for Europe), driving licence, cash, and cards.

We would also suggest bringing a camera to capture those amazing scenic moments, although these days your camera on your phone will be sufficient – please check with your service provider about additional fees for Europe, so you do not get any surprises when you get home.

Please see individual Tours for full details of inclusions.

A. The following items are not normally included; travel insurance, breakdown insurance, alternative ferry supplements and cabin accommodation, room upgrades, porterage, meals/drinks (other than those stated), admission/attraction charges other than those stated, fuel, road tolls, vignettes, emission zone charges, hire car charges other than those stated – Please see individual Tours for full details of exclusions.

A. We operate in a loose convoy format of up to ten supercars, with a lead car. The lead vehicle is operated by your experienced Torque team support drivers, with the convoy system ensuring the group stay together and can focus on enjoying the drive rather than worrying about navigation, events on the road ahead, or getting lost.

Each car in the convoy is issued with a two-way radio system. This system enables everyone in the convoy to communicate with each other. For example:

The lead car will communicate upcoming changes in road or traffic conditions, while participants can communicate any issues to other members of the convoy (e.g., low fuel, rest stop, vehicle issues)

In addition to assisting with logistics and safety, the radios are a great way for everyone to connect throughout the day and are often a source of endless entertainment for all involved.

Within each car, there are normally two occupants – a driver and a passenger. The passenger’s role is to manage communication and navigation, including handling the radio. This ensures the driver can focus on the drive and enjoying the experience.

A. Our team has spent near on 15 years organising and running international Tours based around unique motoring experiences and have decades of combined experience. Over this time, we have traced the best roads that UK and Europe have to offer.

A. We believe it is necessary to have travel insurance and require all participants to arrange a comprehensive travel insurance policy after booking and for the duration of your Tour, as well as for any other associated travel plans.

Particular attention should be paid to cover for medical and dental, personal effects, liability, cancellations, and so forth, particularly in light of COVID-19.

Please be sure to thoroughly peruse the Policy Disclosure Statement and pay close attention to any exclusions or special conditions that may be applicable.

A. Valid passports and travel visas are the responsibility of the participant of the Tour, and requirements will vary depending on the destination country and your country of residence. Please consult the Government’s travel authority to check for requirements and make arrangements as required, well in advance of the start of our Tour.

For Tours outside of the UK, participants must also ensure they have a valid passport with at least six months remaining to the date of return.

A. Now to the important things – accommodation and dining!

We believe the places in which you stay each evening and the restaurants in which you dine should complement your experience. For this reason, accommodation is arranged, wherever possible, at boutique luxury hotels, or unique, ‘experiential’ accommodation. This includes castles, chateaux, private villas and so forth.

Breakfasts are included in accommodation packages, while lunch options are a simpler event on route or as part of the day’s activity.

Dinner is a gourmet and social affair where participants can exchange stories over gastronomic cuisine, fine wine, and champagne. Dinner will be comprised of either 3 courses with a choice of at least 2 dishes per course or a ‘dining credit’ of a fixed value, allowing you the freedom to use it as you wish (any difference between the dining credit value and the final bill will need to be settled with the hotel direct).

Where dinner is not included, your hotel will be located near to a range of other restaurants allowing you the choice of where you would like to dine. This could be at a major award-winning restaurant or a local hidden gem.

Once confirmed, the accommodation and dining package for each Tour is presented within the brochure of that Tour for your selection.

A. The Torque Team will be present throughout the Tour, so there is always someone on hand to assist you.
