Benn Laidler MBE
Director

Benn has served for 27 years in the Armed Forces and travelled much of the globe, including the Bosnian, Iraq, and Afghanistan conflicts. Having witnessed first-hand the terrible injuries both physically and mentally that service personnel suffered, he made it his mission to help whilst encompassing his love of cars.

In 2012, he co-founded the legendary charity driving event Rally for Heroes which has raised a staggering £750,000 for Armed Forces charities and is continuing his mission through our Charity Tour A Driving Force for SSAFA in 2024.

Benn says: “It’s not often you get to do your hobby as your day job, especially when it’s this cool and this much fun!”

My Wheels

Having previously owned a TVR Tuscan and then a fire-breathing V8 TVR Cerbera, Benn needed to find something with equal theatre, but just with a bit more reliability – introducing the Deranged Pony! 740bhp of tyre shredding, supercharged V8 godliness, the theatrical box well and truly ticked, engraved, and branded!

My Wheels

He has owned a variety of performance cars including a Lotus Elan and a Porsche Cayman S but is currently piloting a West Tuned BMW M4 Competition which produces a mere 612bhp!

He also has a 5.0L V8 TVR Chimaera weighing just over a ton and producing 320bhp, which really flies! It is also at the totally opposite end of the motoring spectrum to the German “bahnstormer”.

His favourite motoring memory is doing Vmax down the Mulsanne Straight at Le Mans in the TVR and has taken to the track with cars and bikes in UK and Europe over several years. Nevertheless, his favourite track remains Goodwood because of its incredible motorsport heritage and the fact that it rewards the smooth driver.

Director

Steve served in the Royal Navy for 40 years’ and has been involved with the charity driving event Rally for Heroes which has raised a staggering £750,000 for Armed Forces charities since 2012. He is continuing his mission through our Charity Tour A Driving Force for SSAFA in 2024.

Steve’s experience of detailed planning in the military, dovetailed with his experience of complex event planning and execution makes for a very potent package within Team Torque. Obvious passion, imagination and flair combine to create life-changing and unforgettable experiences for our customers.

Steve says, “Building a new business is challenging but it does not get better than this. We aim to make Torque events the best in the business, and I’m going to have a lot of fun in the process.”

PR and Marketing

Andrea has over 25 years’ PR and Marketing experience across varied industries including commerce, manufacturing, entertainment, hospitality, charities, local trades, and retailers.

She has expertise in developing new ideas to help businesses grow and achieve, increasing digital presence through marketing and PR, as well as extensive experience in planning, implementing, and hosting events.

Andrea is a great team player and is passionate about personal development, customer service, making memories and has a love of writing, photography, and travel.

Although Andrea’s car loving family affectionally call her ‘Driving Miss Daisy’, she loves the growl of her BMW X3 M Competition and is a big Formula 1 fan!
